What type of sun protection does Organic Matters provide?
Organic Matters is a high performance mineral sunscreen made with non nano zinc oxide. It provides broad spectrum protection against UVA and UVB rays and is designed to perform in New Zealand’s harsh UV conditions.
What percentage of the formula is non nano zinc oxide?
Organic Matters sunscreen contains 25% non nano zinc oxide. This very high zinc level is what delivers strong, reliable mineral sun protection and contributes to the sunscreen’s long wear and durability outdoors.
Is Organic Matters sunscreen suitable for all skin types?
Yes. Organic Matters is designed to suit most skin types, including sensitive skin. It is fragrance free and made without chemical UV filters or common irritants. As with any skincare product, we recommend patch testing before first use.
Is this sunscreen suitable for daily use?
Absolutely. Organic Matters is made to be comfortable enough for daily wear while still delivering serious protection when you are training, swimming, hiking, or spending long hours outside.
Can I use your sunscreen on my face?
Yes. Many customers use it as their daily facial SPF. The formula is designed to feel smooth and wearable on the skin, without the heavy or greasy feel often associated with mineral sunscreens.
Does the sunscreen leave a white cast?
Because Organic Matters contains a high level of mineral zinc oxide, the non tinted version may leave a slight white cast on deeper skin tones. Our tinted and light tint options are designed to blend more seamlessly and help even out the appearance of the skin.
What tint options are available?
We offer three options: tinted, light tint, and non tinted. The tinted versions are designed to look natural on the skin, providing a subtle, skin like finish rather than heavy coverage.
Will this sunscreen sting my eyes?
Organic Matters uses a mineral UV filter and does not contain fragrance or chemical sunscreen filters that commonly cause eye sting. While individual sensitivity can vary, many people find it comfortable to wear around the eyes.
How often should I reapply?
Reapply at least every two hours, and immediately after swimming, heavy sweating, or towelling off.
Is your sunscreen water resistant?
Yes. It is water and sweat resistant for up to 80 minutes and is independently tested in moving water. This helps ensure it holds up during swimming, sport, and active outdoor use.
How long does an opened bottle last?
With daily facial use, one bottle typically lasts around three months. Each bottle contains approximately 100 pumps. Once opened, we recommend using the sunscreen within 24 months. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Is Organic Matters sunscreen suitable for children?
Organic Matters is free from chemical uv filters and fragrances, making it suitable for many children. As with any sunscreen, patch testing is recommended. For babies under six months, seek medical advice before use.
Is Organic Matters sunscreen safe for pregnant or nursing women?
Organic Matters uses a mineral UV filter and gentle ingredients. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, we recommend checking with your healthcare provider before introducing any new skincare product.
Is Organic Matters sunscreen reef friendly?
Yes - Our formula does not contain chemical UV filters known to harm marine life. We use mineral zinc oxide and carefully selected ingredients to minimise environmental impact while still delivering effective sun protection.
Is your packaging recyclable?
Organic Matters is packaged in an airless pump to help protect the formula and keep the sunscreen performing consistently over time. At this stage, airless pump packaging is not recyclable or reusable through New Zealand kerbside recycling systems. We are actively exploring better packaging options as technology continues to improve.
Why do you use an airless pump?
Airless packaging helps limit air exposure and contamination, which supports formula stability and consistent performance from the first pump to the last. For sunscreen, this consistency is especially important.
Do you offer wholesale or bulk purchasing?
